— Winthrop University’s Hollywood-themed Homecoming week kicked off Monday with students and others spreading Eagle spirit across campus and parts of Rock Hill.

The university hosted “Paint the Town Garnet and Gold” and set up an area in front of Byrnes Auditorium on campus for students to draw chalk art.

Winthrop’s Homecoming activities this week include a student organization banner competition, athletic events and a student talent show. The annual Friday night party on campus invites alumni, students, faculty and staff to enjoy a live DJ, free food, prizes, a caricature artist, photo booth and a cash bar.

The events will incorporate aspects of Winthrop’s Homecoming theme this year: “All That Glitters Is Garnet and Gold.”

Homecoming T-shirts are available from Winthrop’s on-campus bookstore.
