Sleigh Bell Network to begin taking applications for holiday assistance

The United Way of York County’s Sleigh Bell Network, partnering with WRHI’s Toys for Happiness program and The Herald’s Empty Stocking Fund, will begin taking applications for holiday assistance this week. Below are times and locations for sign-ups.

In Rock Hill, the Family Resource Center, ParentSmart, located at 410 E. Black St. Applications will be taken this Friday, Nov. 15, Nov. 22 and Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The phone number is 803-980-2079.

Also in Rock Hill, the YMCA will hold a sign-up on Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Charlotte Avenue branch located at 402 Charlotte Ave. The phone number is 803-980-TOYS (8697).

In York, the location is at the Family Resource Center, Parenting Partnerships, located at 37 Pinckney St. Applications will be taken Friday and Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. until noon. Additional dates are Nov. 22 and Dec. 6 from noon until 3 p.m. The phone number is 803-684-1504.

Applicants must live in York County and must be the parent or legal guardian of an eligible child. Ages of children must be between birth to 14. Applicants must sign up at just one location. A photo ID and proof of income is required, as well as a Social Security card for the applicant and for each eligible child, as well as a birth certificate for each eligible child.
