— - A fire that officials said appears to be accidental burned through about 15 wooded acres in rural southeastern York County Friday.

No one was hurt in the fire near the dead end of Neely Store Road close to the Catawba River. State forestry officials had to bring in three fire plows to help stop the fire, said Larry McConnell, Lesslie Volunteer Fire Department chief.

Firefighters from both Lesslie and Oakdale departments contained the fire after about three hours. The fire was contained to woods but firefighters were stationed close to nearby homes to ensure public safety, McConnell said.
