— Winthrop University Police caught a student with four mini bottles of liquor, a jello shot and a half-empty can of beer during Saturday’s Homecoming basketball game at the Winthrop Coliseum.

The 21-year-old woman was not arrested, but she was referred to the college’s student judicial system, according to a Winthrop police report.

A Winthrop officer spotted the student and another woman with the beer while he was working at the basketball game, the report states.

Both of the women initially denied having the alcohol, which is not allowed inside the Coliseum, according to the report.

During tailgating before the game, alcohol was allowed in some areas.

After further questioning, the 21-year-old student handed over to police two mini bottles of vanilla vodka, one mini bottle of whiskey and one mini bottle of rum.

Police confiscated and threw away the mini bottles, the half-empty can of Bud Light Platinum and the jello shot, the report states.
