CATAWBA — A Catawba man is accused of assaulting his brother with a hammer Tuesday afternoon at their home, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.
A 47-year-old Catawba man said he returned to his South Anderson Road home after work at about 5:30 p.m. to find his brother on the back porch intoxicated. He spoke with the brother, who yelled and then hit him in the ear with the tool before leaving the house, the report states.
Deputies noticed a cut and blood on the man's ear.
The victim wasn't able to tell police why his brother was angry, and admitted he had been drinking as well, the report states.
Deputies issued an arrest warrant for the brother, identified as Billy Ray Oliver, 40, who has the same South Anderson Road address, according to the report.
