ROCK HILL — Police used a license plate to track down a man accused of stealing two Christmas trees from a Food Lion in Rock Hill.
An employee at the grocery store on Cross Pointe Drive said a man and juvenile placed the trees in a small pickup and then left without paying, according to a Rock Hill police report. The store provided police with surveillance video, as well as license plate information.
The video showed a younger male hand the trees to a man who loaded them into the back of his truck.
York County Sheriff's officials located the truck at the man's home on Hagler Drive in Rock Hill. One Christmas tree was still in the pickup and the other was on the front porch, the report states.
An officer identified both suspects from the surveillance video.
Mark Anthony Buckaloo Jr., 25, was charged with shoplifting, according to the police report. The other suspect, whose age was not listed, was given a juvenile summons to appear in Family Court and was released to his mother.
The Christmas trees were returned to Food Lion.
