From tree-lighting ceremonies to the Santa train, there is plenty to do in Chester and Lancaster counties to help you get into the holiday spirit.
Lighting of the Tree
6 p.m. Nov. 29
Historic Springs House, 201 W. Gay St.
Choirs and dancers will perform. Hot cocoa and sweet treats from Bojangles will be provided. Children are asked to wear pajamas and bring their letters to Santa.
B&B Craft Show
7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 30
Springdale Recreation Center
33rd annual craft show for the holidays featuring hand-made, one-of-a-kind crafts, collectibles, jewelry, wood art and handbags. Santa will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Red Rose Holiday Tour
Shopping, entertainment, art, dining, history tours, Santa’s train and workshop. The tour includes a performance by the “Ohio Players,” Resolute Reindeer 5K Walk/Run, Piedmont Folk Art Show and Sale, Bob Doster’s Backstreet Studio, Olde English District Holiday Show, etc.
All day on Dec. 7 and 8
Adults ride for $20, children for $10.
The Lighting of the Way
4:30 p.m. Dec. 8
Intersection of Steele Hill and Old Hickory roads, Van Wyck
Candle-lighting and worship event that goes to four churches – Van Wyck Presbyterian, Van Wyck United Methodist, Trinity Presbyterian and White Oak AME Zion. Organized by the Van Wyck Community Development Club.
