Northwestern heads to title game; South Pointe falls to Stratford

November 29, 2013

The Northwestern Trojans just kept on winning Friday night, clobbering North Augusta 49-21 to advance to next Saturday’s Class AAAA Division II state championship game.

The South Pointe Stallions, which just a week ago had knocked off top-seeded and heavily favored Goose Creek to advance to the semi-finals, couldn’t keep the magic going Friday, losing a heart-breaker to Stratford, 36-13.

Northwestern, 14-0, and Stratford, 12-2, will square off for the state title at noon Dec. 7 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
