CHARLOTTE — A patient at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center jumped from a seventh-floor window Sunday night in an attempted suicide, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report.
The victim, a 25-year-old man, suffered broken bones in what police classified as an attempted suicide.
Presbyterians seventh floor includes facilities for mental health, oncology and maternity services.
The incident was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m., according to a police report. The man who jumped was hospitalized at Carolinas Medical Center with broken bones.
There was no word on his condition Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital declined to comment on the case Tuesday, citing patient privacy laws.
The spokeswoman also declined to comment on what type of safety measures are in place for mental health patients on the seventh floor.
