Christmas Candlelight Tours at Historic Brattonsville will be 3-9 p.m. Saturday, Brattonsville Road. Christmas Candlelight Tours will feature five theatrical venues throughout the site. The running theme will be the joy and excitement of Christmas and examining where holiday traditions originated and how they came to be enjoyed in the Carolina Piedmont. A historically dressed St. Nicholas will share the history of Santa Claus and visit with children. From 3-6 p.m., dip your own candle, make paper ornaments and string a popcorn garland. Brass Quartet play traditional Christmas melodies 6-9 p.m. The Friends of Historic Brattonsville will have hot drinks, seasonal foods and home-baked goods for sale. Christmas for pets
The York County Animal Shelter is having its annual Christmas at the Shelter 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at 713 Justice Blvd., York.
The event includes free photos of pets with Santa, refreshments, baked goods and information about adoption and volunteer opportunities at the shelter. All well-behaved pets are welcome, whether from the shelter or not.

Grammy-winning jazz artist Ben Williams and Sound Effects will give a Downtown Holiday Jazz concert at 8 p.m. Dec. 20 at the City Club, 140 E. Main St., Rock Hill.

Holidays at the Garden runs through Dec. 31 at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. The garden glows with half a million LED lights in the lighting display turned on at 5 p.m. nightly, plus see festive fun in the Visitor Center and Orchid Conservatory, along with servings of hot drinks and treats offered nightly from Belmonts Caravan Coffee. On the Four Season Gardens lawn, guests can enjoy live entertainment Thursday through Sunday featuring a cappella groups like Queen City Groove, gospel groups like Lake Norman Baptist Church, jazz ensembles, hand bell choirs and more.
