— A Rock Hill woman taking a smoke break at her job told police that a hooded, tattooed man robbed her at gunpoint Tuesday night, stealing her cell phone and cigarettes before running toward Walmart, police say.

Officers were sent to the shopping center near Kohl’s off Dave Lyle Boulevard at about 9:45 p.m. after receiving calls about an armed robbery, according to a Rock Hill police report. A woman, 27, told officers that she stepped outside to take a smoke break and talk to her boyfriend over the phone after taking out the trash from her workplace. That’s when a man approached her, pointed a gun at her face and demanded that she give him all her money.

The woman did not have any money, the report states, but handed over her Samsung Galaxy 4S phone and a $3 pack of Camel cigarettes, the report states. The man fled, and the victim ran back into the business and called police. A K9 unit tracked the man’s scent to the end of Keith Drive, off Red River Road, until the scent dropped.

Police describe the robber as a black man, 6 feet tall, about 140 pounds and between 20- 25 years old. During the robbery, the suspect sported a red zip-up hoodie. He also has either a tattoo or small, dark scar under his right eye.
