New Fort Mill schools name mascots, colors

“Titans” and “Dragons” will join the mix of mascots in the Fort Mill School District next year.

The district’s two new elementary school just named their official mascots and colors after a voting period in which future students and their families got to nominate and then vote to pick the final winners.

At Tega Cay Elementary, the mascot will be the Titan, beating out other suggestions including Dolphins and Wolverines. The school’s colors will be blue and green.

And at Doby’s Bridge Elementary, the mascot will be the Dragon and the school’s colors will be black and gold, narrowly beating out the combinations of blue and green or black and red.

Both Tega Cay and Doby’s Bridge will open in August 2014.
