Police will not charge the driver of a car who accidentally hit two children on Springdale Road in Rock Hill on Monday afternoon, sending them to the hospital.

After conducting an investigation, Rock Hill Police Capt. Brent Allmon said, police have decided not to file any charges against the driver.

The identities of the children, 13 and 10, as well as the driver, have not been released.

The children were hit while crossing Springdale Road around 1 p.m. Monday near the Wildwood Springs apartment complex. It remains unclear if the children live at the complex.

Both children were taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver stopped and talked with police after the accident, Allmon said. No update on either child’s medical condition was available Tuesday.
