— A Rock Hill woman was jailed this weekend after she took a swing at a police officer who was intervening in a domestic dispute on Saturday.

Police were sent to Patriot’s Crossing apartments on Patriot parkway at about 8:20 p.m. after receiving word of a domestic situation, according to a Rock Hill police report. Officers heard screaming as they arrived to the apartment, and no one answered the door when the policemen knocked and identified themselves.

The door was unlocked, the report states, and one officer walked inside. There, they found Raven Mariah Gadsen, 22, sitting next to a woman, 30. The women told police they were calling off their relationship and they had a verbal argument.

After police separated both women, Gadsen charged at the other woman, the report states. An officer tried to hold Gadsen back, but she pushed the policeman and took a swing at him, the report states. Police restrained Gadsen and placed her under arrest, charging her with third-degree assault and battery. She has since been released from jail.
