ROCK HILL — A South Pointe High School student was charged Monday after administrators found him with a knife while looking for students who were allegedly smoking near the school, police say.
The school’s resource officer found Malique Tisdale, 17, with a knife in his right front pocket after receiving a call about four students smoking in a wooded area at the school, according to a Rock Hill police report. Tisdale was taken back to the school, where an assistant principal searched him and found him with the knife.
He was charged with unlawful weapon and issued a ticket. He was released to his parents.
