South Pointedefeated Nation Ford 76-53 in Region 3-AAAA action at South Pointe.

Nation Ford is now 2-3 in region play.

Girls Basketball

South Pointe stormed to an 18-5 lead and defeated Nation Ford 64-28 in Region 3-AAAA play at South Pointe.

T’Keia Williams led South Pointe with 14 points. Cameron Davis added 13 to the winning cause.

The Chester Cyclones used a big second half to break open a close game and defeat the Chapman Panthers 55-40 in Region 3-AAAA action at Chester.

The Cyclones turned up the defense pressure after intermission. That resulted in more turnovers and some easy transition baskets.

Terica Sanders led the scoring attack for Chester with 16 points. Deja Marshall added a dozen points for the Cyclones.

Boys Basketball

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets fought back from a 10-point first-quarter deficit to defeat the Lancaster Bruins 74-67 in overtime in Region 3-AAAA action at Lancaster.

Fort Mill trailed 21-11 after one period, but coach Dwayne Hartsoe’s team battled back and trailed only 32-29 at halftime. They tied the count in regulation and outscored Lancaster 17-10 in overtime.

Tanner Mitchell led Fort Mill with 16 points. Devon Thacker and Mike Scurlock joined him in double figures with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
