— Trailing by three at halftime, the South Pointe boys came out trapping the ball from their opening defensive stance en route to a 78-56 win over the Yellow Jackets.

An 18-0 run to start the third quarter by the Stallions, who went from trailing 35-32 to leading 50-35, flipped the script.

Fort Mill struggled with turnovers as the Stallions came up with steals often, outscoring the Jackets 32-9 in the third quarter.

Fort Mill held its own with South Pointe early in the game. That was until the turnovers started taking affect in South Pointe’s favor as their quickness quickly emerged.

Both teams opened the second quarter trading baskets, as South Pointe struggled to get its offense to flow. Fort Mill tied it at 18-18 as Cory Wills went in for a lay-up with about 5:30 left in the first half. That basket started a 7-0 run for Fort Mill.

South Pointe struggled with its shot in the second quarter as Fort Mill’s Mitchell Johnsen led the way for the Jackets in the second quarter. The Stallions didn’t get the opportunities they were looking for and missed easy layups and were out rebounded by a hustling Jackets squad.

The Stallions’ Tyreece Brice kept South Pointe in the game in the second quarter with three helpful 3-pointers.
