Lancaster Co. schools on 2 hour delay on Friday

January 23, 2014

Lancaster County School District will be on a two-hour delay for students on Friday due to extremely low temperatures in the forecast. Teachers and staff members will report to work at normal times.

“The extreme cold could mean we have a significant number of buses that have trouble starting in the morning,” Superintendent Gene Moore said. “We do not want students waiting outside in the cold for a long time. The delay will give us time to make sure all buses are started and pick up children without delays."

Other tri-county area school districts did not announce any closings or delays for Friday. Check heraldonline.com for updates on weather affecting schools.
