The university provides in-state tuition rates for residents of South Carolina and 12 counties in North Carolina, including Mecklenburg, Gaston, Union and Iredell.

Thursday’s free event is drop-in style and will feature radio personality and Winthrop alumna Sheri Lynch, of the Bob and Sheri show, recorded in Charlotte and broadcast worldwide. Lynch holds a master’s in social work degree from Winthrop.

The two-hour open house begins at 5:30 p.m. in Winthrop’s McBryde Hall. Lynch will speak and meet with audience members at 6 p.m.
