Crews respond to garage fire in Lancaster

— Authorities are investigating a fire that erupted at a shop in Lancaster County, burning at least one car Wednesday afternoon, the fire marshal said.

The shop owner told officials that he had just been doing some work while a wood heater was running when he walked out the garage only to return and find flames jumping, said Stephen Blackwelder, Lancaster fire marshal.

"He thinks that's where it started," Blackwelder said.

The fire has since been extinguished, but fire crews are still probing an official cause. The fire happened in the county's Tradesville community.
