LANCASTER — Two people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Lancaster convenience store in which a gunman presented a note to the store clerk and demanded money, deputies said on Monday.
At about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 26, deputies say Robert Colton Mehaffey, 22, walked into Lloyds Store on S.C. 9 with an handgun and gave the clerk a note demanding money from the cash register, according to a Lancaster County Sheriffs Office news release. Mehaffey then got away with some of the store's money.
Deputies were able to use surveillance video and other resources to link Mehaffey to the robbery. He was Friday at his Aero Lane home, the release states. Deputies also arrested Summer Faith Hinson, 17, charging her with accessory before the fact of armed robbery after they say she wrote the note Mehaffey presented to the clerk at the store. She also hid from deputies and resisted arrest when they confronted her, the report states. She is additionally charged with resisting arrest.
Mehaffey is held at the Lancaster County Detention Center, where his bond has been denied. Hinson is held at the detention center on a $50,000 bond.
