Coroner identifies Rock Hill man killed hit-and-run near I-77

A Rock Hill man has been identified as the victim of a deadly hit-and-run earlier this week near Interstate 77 in Columbia.

Osric T. Bittle, 33, was found Monday morning after being struck at about 11 p.m. Sunday on Farrow road near 1-77, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

Bittle, of Micro Street in Rock Hill, died at the scene from trauma "associated with being struck by a vehicle," according to a press release issued Wednesday from Watts.

A motorist driving by spotted the body of a man near a patch of trees near the side of Farrow Road, Trooper David Jones said.

The site is close to the Residence Inn on Legrande Road.

Investigators are looking for a blue 2001-2008 model Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country.
