I-77 lane reopens in Chester Co. after crews fix hole in bridge

— A northbound lane on Interstate 77 has reopened in Chester County after being closed for several hours while crews fixed a hole that developed in a bridge overpass.

Officials with the state Department of Transportation closed the right lane at the 63 mile marker, the DOT said. The overpass is about 2 miles south of S.C. 9 in Chester County, near Richburg.

The DOT's the lane reopened about 10:30 p.m. Traffic had been backed up for up to four miles, according to the DOT.
