South Pointe boys up to No. 2 in Class AAAA state poll

Chester’s boys made a first appearance in the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association’s final state rankings of the season, popping in at No. 8 in Class AAA. South Pointe’s boys’ team, one game away from a perfect Region 3-AAAA record, is up to No. 2 in Class AAAA, the highest ranking in the Herald’s coverage area. Indian Land was close, checking in at No. 3 in the Class AA boys rankings.

John Smith’s Great Falls boys team moved up to No. 5 in Class A after thumping region rival C.A. Johnson last week.

Ronnie Robinson’s Lancaster Bruins, who have wrapped up the Region 3-AAAA title with two games to play, are the only girls’ team ranked. They’re No. 6 in Class AAAA.
