The South Carolina High School League’s weather-delayed basketball state tournaments finally get started Thursday. Fifteen local teams will tip off the postseason at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Click on the hyper-linked tournament bracket under each class to view pairings:
South Pointe went undefeated in Region 3-AAAA and claimed the No. 1 seed and a first round home game against Byrnes, the No. 4 seed out of Region 2.
Northwestern finished second and will host Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m., the latest starting game of the first round. Rock Hill’s third place finish in the region earned the Bearcats a trip down the road to Gaffney, the No. 2 seed out of Region 2.
Nation Ford claimed the No. 4 spot out of Region 3 by beating rival Fort Mill in the regular season finale the Falcons will face Region 2 No. 1 Dorman on the road.
Chester won Region 3-AAA and will host No. 4 seed Camden in the first round of the state tournament.
Indian Land claimed a No. 1 seed by virtue of an undefeated Region 4-AA campaign. The Warriors will host No. 4 seed Eau Claire in the first round.
Either Great Falls or C.A. Johnson will take the No. 1 seed in Region 3-A, based on the outcome of their tiebreaker Wednesday night. Lewisville slipped in with a No. 4 seed from the same region and will face No. 1 Fox Creek on the road Thursday.
Lancaster took the No. 1 seed from Region 3-AAAA and will host No. 4 Wade Hampton in the first round. Northwestern finished second and will host Spartanburg at 6 p.m. Thursday, an earlier start than any other game. South Pointe finished third and will face No. 2 Mauldin on the road, while Fort Mill will travel to No. 1 Dorman as the No. 4 seed out of Region 3-AAAA.
Chester, the No. 3 seed from Region 3-AAA, will face No. 2 seed Dreher, a game that tips off at 6 p.m.
Indian Land’s girls drew the No. 4 seed out of Region 4-AA and will face top seed Fairfield Central in a 6 p.m. first round game.
Lewisville finished third in Region 3-A and will face Wagener-Salley on the road Thursday.
