ROCK HILL — The suspect in the Feb. 9 Walgreens robbery on Oakland Avenue was arrested Thursday in North Carolina.
Investigators identified the robber as Brandon Auman, 25, according to a statement from Rock Hill Police. He was arrested in Burke County and charged as a fugitive from justice.
Rock Hill Detectives will be working with North Carolina Authorities to have him extradited. He faces armed robbery charges.
The robbery prompted Winthrop University to issue a warning to students. Police said the suspect handed a note to the pharmacist demanding controlled substances, including Oxycodone and Hydromorphone. He indicated he had a weapon, but the pharmacist didn't see a gun, police said. The robber made off with $300 worth of prescription drugs.
