— Two Rock Hill women told police that a man missing several front teeth pointed a knife at them and demanded they give him $1 or he would follow them home Thursday night.

The women, ages 24 and 25, told officers that as they were leaving the Family Dollar on Saluda Street in a Dodge Caravan, a man with a short Afro and a maroon shirt, white undershirt and dark pants went to the driver’s side window wielding a knife with a green handle, according to a Rock Hill police report. The man told them to hand over $1 or he would follow them.

One of the victims said the knife was not “presented in a harmful matter,” but the suspect did display the knife while asking for money, the report states. The 24-year-old victim gave the man $1 as the women left the scene.

The women told police that their children witnessed the incident, but both victims refused to provide written statements.
