— The driver of one of the cars involved in a crash on Rock Hill's Celanese Road the morning of Feb. 14 has died, according to emergency officials.

Zande Mathies, driver of a Ford Mustang, died Friday afternoon at a Charlotte hospital, said Sabrina Gast, York County coroner. Mathies crossed the center line while traveling west on the road, troopers said, and collided with another car heading the opposite direction.

Mathies was flown to the hospital after the crash. His age was not immediately available from Charlotte medical examiner officials, Gast said, but Mathies is survived by a wife and small child.
