— A Nation Ford High School senior was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital after a crash Saturday morning outside the town of Fort Mill, according to police.

Dakota Walker, 18, of Fort Mill was the sole person in a 2004 Toyota truck that ran off the left side of Hensley Road around 12:41 a.m. Saturday, according to Lance Cpl. Tony Kelly of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The vehicle struck an embankment and emergency responders had to use mechanical tools to extract him from the truck, Kelly said.

Walker was not wearing a seat belt, Kelly said. Walker's condition at the hospital was unavailable.
