Shoplifter takes $93 in beer from Rock Hill Food Lion

The HeraldFebruary 24, 2014

— Police are searching for a man who stole nearly $100 in beer from a Rock Hill Food Lion store.

The manager of the store at 1260 E. Main St. said an unknown man filled a grocery cart with several cases of beer at about 6 p.m. Saturday. He then walked through a vacant checkout lane and left without paying, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Police were able to track the license plate of the Honda Accord they believe the shoplifter left in, but the owner said she left her car and keys at an apartment and no one who lives there "fits the description of the suspect."

The beer was valued at $93.93.
