Cuthbertson scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth and edged the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets 5-4 in non-region play at Waxhaw, N.C. The Yellow Jackets tied the count in the top of the seventh to send the game to extra innings.

Danielle Gibson led the Fort Mill attack with three hits. Bella Roy picked up the win by pitching four shutout innings.

Buddy Anderson added one goal and one assist for the Cougars, while Elias Ennis and Tripp Blackwell each added a goal. Hayne Wilkerson had two assists for the Cougars, and Josue Alvarado added one.
