Driver charged with felony DUI after hit-and-run crash on I-77 in Rock Hill

— After a brief manhunt Thursday afternoon, Nicholas Anthony Montgomery was arrested and charged with felony DUI and leaving the scene of an accident on I-77 in Rock Hill.

At about 1:40 p.m., a Honda crashed at exit 82 near Celanese Road and then continued driving to exit 79 and took the Dave Lyle Boulevard exit, according to police. Officials later found the vehicle on Burnage Road, but the suspect had fled on foot.

Within an hour, investigators apprehended Montgomery, according to police. Montgomery was booked at the Rock Hill jail on a $50,000 bond.

It is unclear if there were any injuries.

Exit 82 was closed for about an hour following the crash.
