CHESTER — A Chester County man has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct in connection with an alleged sex assault on a young girl, deputies said.
Matthew Blake Winchester, 29, is held at the Chester County Detention Center without bond. He is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor in which the victim is 11 -14, a felony carrying a maximum 20 years in prison.
He was arrested Thursday on warrants for an incident that happened within the last month, said Chester County Sheriff's Capt. Robert Sprouse.
In late February, deputies were sent to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill after hospital staff contacted them about a possible sexual assault victim from Chester, according to a Chester County Sheriffs report. A nurse told police that a girl, 12, claimed she had been inappropriately touched by Winchester.
Deputies conducted an investigation and issued warrants on Winchester on Thursday.
