One of the teachers of the year will be named District Teacher of the Year in August. He or she will compete for South Carolina Teacher of the Year.

The current District Teacher of the Year, Rhonda Hudak, is a seventh-grade language arts teacher at Rawlinson Road Middle School. She was among the top five finalists for the state title.
