Sammy Lee Baskins, Jr.

— The Lancaster Police Department identified the victims in Saturday's shooting in a release.

Dorothy Mae Caskey, 63, and Jameisha Latrice Clark, 28, were both shot by Sammy Baskins, Jr. on Saturday afternoon. Baskins then shot and killed himself before police could arrest him.

Clark is Baskins' daughter, and Caskey is Clark's grandmother.

In the release, police say Baskins was supposed to appear in General Sessions Court on Tuesday on charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct on a Minor.

"It appears Baskins was attempting to locate witnesses and paperwork associated with that case when these shootings occurred," the release stated.

Both Clark and Caskey are in serious but stable condition at a Charlotte hospital.
