— A stretch of Interstate 77 southbound at exit 77 reopened following a 3:30 p.m. crash Tuesday.

Troopers said the wreck was caused by an RV that changed lanes, forcing a pickup truck to crash into trees. The female driver of the pickup was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The RV driver will be cited.

Drivers were advised to avoid I-77 while crews cleared the wreck.

At 4:40 p.m., the southbound lanes of I-77 were opened to traffic again, although traffic cameras showed heavy traffic had stacked up for several miles before the accident.
