Police say a man walked into a Rock Hill hotel on Tuesday, waited until employees left the lobby and then walked out with a 32-inch flat-screen television.

Officers were sent to the Econo Lodge on Riverview Road at about 4:30 p.m. when a hotel employee reported that a TV in the lobby had been stolen, according to a Rock Hill police report. Police reviewed security footage showing a man walk into the hotel at about 12:30 p.m. when no employee was manning the front and carry the Insignia 32-inch TV off a table in the breakfast lounge.

Video shows the man lean the TV against the counter once an employee walks in, the report states. The thief speaks with two employees briefly before they leave the lobby area. The suspect then picks the TV up again, runs to his dark green car, puts it in the back seat and drives away.

The car’s license plate number could not be read from the video. Police believe the car might be a Dodge or Chrysler Sebring. Police are still investigating.
