Latter-day Saints

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Cecelia Ward, daughter of Craig and Denise Ward of Rock Hill, recently returned from serving an 18-month mission in the Philippines. She served in the Baguio and Urdaneta Missions, where she taught the Filipino people the gospel of Jesus Christ and served their families as needed. Before her mission, she attended Brigham Young University for three years, where she majored in English. A week after Cecelia returned from her mission, she returned to complete her degree. She is a member of the Rock Hill Ward, 1883 Saluda Road, Rock Hill.

Ordination: Pastor Cynthia R. Long will be ordained into the ministry at 3 p.m. May 17 at Hilton Garden Inn, 650 Tinsley Way, Rock Hill. The service will be led by Apostle Donald C. Wilson of Faith and Deliverance Worship Center in Fayetteville, N.C. Long, a Rock Hill native, attended Queen City Bible College and earned an associate degree in business from York Technical College. She graduated magna cum laude in 2013 from Clinton College and earned her bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Clinton May 3. She has volunteered with the Women’s Prison Ministry, served as youth minister at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church and founded, along with Gregory and Sandra Dolster, Household Healing Ministries seven months ago.
