•  Malik Strother of Chester, Courtney Lee Petitgout of Fort Mill and Patrick Robles of Rock Hill were awarded the Lannie Love Education Scholarships by the Master Gardeners of York County.

Strother will attend South Carolina State University in the fall where he will study agriculture business and operations.

Petitgout will attend Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton, Ga., in the fall and study agriculture communications and marketing.

Robles is a first year horticulture major at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood.

•  Barbara Moseley and Brian Wilson of Rock Hill are semifinalist for the 2014 American Quilter’s Society QuiltWeek, July30-Aug.2 at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Their quilt, “Beach Memories,” will be among 182 entries. First, second and third prizes in seven categories will be awarded. Best in Show will win $10,000. For information, go to www.americanquilter.com.
