— A South Pointe High student was arrested last week after police say he had marijuana at school.

The boy, 16, is charged with possession of marijuana, according to a Rock Hill Police report.

The teen arrived at school Thursday and "appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance," the report states. Officials searched his bag and found a plastic baggie containing about .5 grams of marijuana, along with a pipe and lighter.

He was released to his mother and the evidence was placed in a drug locker at the Rock Hill Law Center.
