A man and two teens were arrested Tuesday in connection with eight armed robberies in York, Lancaster and Mecklenburg counties.

Dyquane Billings, 20, of Rock Hill, and Trevante Bryant and Tevin Hindmon, both 16, were arrested after two robberies in Charlotte and Fort Mill early Tuesday morning. Bryant and Hindmon will be charged as adults.

A clerk at the Kangaroo Express on Highway 21 in Fort Mill reported that around 3:30 a.m., a man wearing a red bandanna over his face and a red ball cap tried to get access to the register before fleeing the store.

A short time later, a York County sheriff's deputy pulled over the car, which matched the vehicle description of the car used in other convenience store armed robberies on May 30. The deputy pulled the car over and arrested the three men.

In a statement, Sheriff Bruce Bryant praised the "terrific police work" of his deputies and detectives and the coordination with area agencies, including the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Rock Hill Police Department and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

• May 27: Quick Trip at 9565 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land

• May 29: Quick Trip at 4020 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie
