Brett Ringer Memorial Golf Tournament June 19

June 11, 2014

Former Rock Hill football coach Jim Ringer announced the scholarship winners for the 13th annual Brett Ringer Memorial Golf Tournament. Rock Hill's Sutton Alexander, Northwestern's Anna Gooch, South Pointe's Jessica Robinson and Lancaster's Evthokia Spears were all awarded $500 scholarships in Brett Ringer's honor.

The tournament, which is held in memory of Ringer's son, Brett, has doled out between $50,000 and $60,000 in scholarship money through the previous 12 editions of the tournament. This year's event will again be held at Pinetuck Golf Club on June 19, and will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Four-person teams cost $200 to enter, or individuals can enter for $50 and be placed with a team.

Ringer wanted to personally thank Walt Gainey, Lewis Murray, Tom Weaver and Terry Knotts for their help putting on the event. Contact Gainey for more information or to register for the tournament at 803-981-1326.
