Shots fired near Rock Hill park

The HeraldJune 12, 2014

— Shots were fired mid-day Wednesday near a Rock Hill park.

Several officers from the Rock Hill Police Department responded to the park at the Southland Park neighborhood at about 2:15 p.m. after hearing reports of gunfire, according to a police report. Dispatch workers could hear the gun shots while taking the call.

It doesn't appear that anyone was injured, and the report did not state if shell casings were found.

While police searched the area, an officer received a tip from a confidential informant who identified three Rock Hill men as the shooters. Their names were redacted on the report, but they were listed as two 24-year-olds and a 23-year-old.

The case remains active as police follow leads.
