Winthrop president given termination notice

Winthrop University trustees voted 12-1 on Friday, June 13 to give President Jamie Comstock Williamson notice of termination for cause. Trustees met for nearly seven hours total discussing Williamson's employment. In recent months, the president has received criticism about decisions related to pay raises for senior level staff members and a summer tuition increase. Questions have also been raised about her recent husband's employment in her office. For more information, visit
