ROCK HILL — Warrants have been issued for a Clover man who, while a patient at Piedmont Medical Center, allegedly assaulted three members of the hospital’s staff when he refused to comply with instructions during a medical evaluation Monday night, according to police.
When police arrived at the hospital at about 8:30 p.m., they found a patient, 23, strapped in restraints on a hospital bed, according to a Rock Hill police report. A staff member explained that the patient became unruly and uncooperative during a medical evaluation.
The man broke free from the staff’s control, pushed a woman, 32, and punched her on her right shoulder, the report states. The man also grabbed a second woman, 22, by both her arms and shoved her into a wall. He then pushed a man, 68, into a wall while he tried escaping from the room.
Police photographed injuries and took written statements before issuing warrants on the man. By Tuesday afternoon, the suspect had not been arrested.
