— A motorist who passed a white Camaro while merging onto Interstate 77 in Rock Hill called police after the other driver allegedly took out a pistol and began waving it at him on Tuesday, authorities say.

The victim, 50, told police that he was traveling on North Cherry Road at about 11 a.m. when he got in front of a white Camaro to enter the on-ramp for I-77, according to a Rock Hill police report. The Camaro’s driver allegedly began waving an object inside the car.

As the victim and suspect drove onto the entrance ramp, the suspect pulled alongside the victim and pointed a semiautomatic pistol at him, the report states. The victim called 911 and followed the suspect until he exited off I-77 in Fort Mill.

By Tuesday evening, authorities were unable to find the suspect’s car, which bears a Virginia license plate. Police continue the search for the car.
