Police: Fort Mill man choked woman during assault at Rock Hill hotel

The HeraldJune 19, 2014

— Police are looking for a Fort Mill man accused of choking a woman and assaulting her at a Rock Hill hotel.

The woman, 21, told police a man choked her and then hit her several times in the face and head Wednesday morning before leaving their room at the Country Inn and Suites off Patriot Parkway, according to a Rock Hill Police report.

Police noticed injuries on the woman's lip and right temple. They also found blood on the comforter.

The woman said she defended herself by biting the man on the shoulder.

She said they began fighting after she used the man's bank card without telling him.

The couple has been "cohabiting for several weeks at different hotels in the Rock Hill area," the report states.

Police determined the man was the primary aggressor, and issued warrants charging him with criminal domestic violence. He has not been arrested as of Thursday morning. Rock Hill officials will need to work with the York County Sheriff's Office or Fort Mill Police Department to serve the warrants, said Rock Hill Police spokesman Mark Bollinger.
