Former Northwestern Trojan Alex Martinez scored his first professional soccer goal Wednesday, June 18 during Sporting KC's 2-0 win over Minnesota United. Martinez won multiple state championships with Northwestern, before playing two years each of college soccer at High Point and then N.C. State. Martinez was drafted in the third round by Sporting KC this year and has appeared in 10 games for the club.
