— Winthrop University trustees plan to meet Thursday to discuss suspended President Jamie Comstock Williamson’s employment.

Nearly two weeks ago, the trustees voted 12-1 to suspend Williamson and give her notice of her termination. She declined an opportunity from the board to address trustees’ concerns at a hearing scheduled for this week.

The board meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., beginning with a public comment period. Anyone wishing to speak is asked to contact Winthrop’s president’s office to sign up.

Trustees say they will then hold an executive session Thursday morning to discuss Williamson’s employment contract. They plan to hold a public portion of the meeting for “action on presidential contractual matters,” according to their agenda.

The board also plans to discuss proposed economic development projects in Rock Hill and plans to set tuition rates for Winthrop students.
