Winthrop acting president speaks to media

The Winthrop University board of trustees voted unanimously around noon on June 26, 2014 to fire President Jamie Comstock Williamson. The board, which suspended Williamson nearly two weeks before, voted after discussing her employment behind closed doors for more than two hours. Provost Debra Boyd was named acting president.
